Grunge Celebration

As Grunge has been newly heralded this month in Britain's finest music magazine Uncut, I though I would have week-long celebration of all things grunge by posting a few little videos, live performances and an 'Essential Recordings' guide later in the week.

For today, to kick of this mini-festival of unwashed wonders, I have two videos of seminal grunge era bands. First is Mudhoney performing their defining moment of Sabbath-riffage at hyper speed, 'Touch Me, I'm Sick'. The second is the era's most underrated group, the elegiac elegance of The Screaming Trees from which Mark Lanegan sprang. The video is their first ever televised performance from Letterman in '92 playing 'Nearly Lost You'.
